ISPB Participates in the “BODY WALK”

For the past several years Michael Weigus, the ISPB Health Education Coordinator, has participated in the “Body Walk” sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension, Champaign County Unit.

Nearly 1,000 students attended the activities held at The Armory in Urbana, April 1-3, 2003.

Students from the county were invited to attend the “Body Walk” and it means just that. Areas were set up to represent different parts of the body, giving students pertinent information through handouts and visual presentations.

At the ISPB “Eye Care” booth, brochures, pocket magnifiers and pencils were made available to the students, along with a video presentation on fireworks, eye safety and eye issues. This year, the ISPB was pleased to be assisted by nursing students from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
