Quick Tips

VISION-SPECIFIC VITAMINS:  If you are taking a multi-vitamin/ mineral, check with your health care professional before you add a vision-specific vitamin formula. There is a chance that you may end up taking too much zinc, beta carotene and selenium, all of which can lead to health problems (Source: Nutrition Action Health Letter / Center for Science in the Public Interest, July/August 2000).

CLINICAL TRIALS: If you are thinking about taking part in a clinical trial, you may want to get a copy of the booklet entitled Vision Research: Information for Patients, published by the National Eye Institute (NEI). This booklet provides information on what clinical trials are and where and how they are conducted, as well as other pertinent information. To order a copy call 1+800+869+2020 or write: National Eye Institute, 2020 Vision Place, Bethesda, MD 20892-3655.

OLD PRESCRIPTIONS: Prescriptions over a year old are now considered non-refillable according to recent legislation. A new prescription must be obtained from your eye care professional.
