2001 ISPB LECTURESHIP — Illinois Optometric Association

On October 7 at the Illinois Optometric Association Convention 2001 in Itasca, the ISPB presented its Distinguished Lecturer Series Award to an outstanding optometrist — Bruce E. Onofrey, R.Ph., O.D.. He gave an informative two-part presentation entitled “Interactive Pharmaceutical Update and Challenging Cases.” The audience shared knowledge of current ocular drug therapy via the OptionFinder® and participated in the differential diagnosis and management of cases via the computerized response system.

Dr. Onofrey, a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, completed his residency at the Albuquerque Veterans Administration Medical Center. He is currently responsible for primary care eye services at Lovelace Medical Center, Montgomery EyeClinic in Albuquerque. Current faculty appointments include adjunct status at the University of California at Berkeley, Pacific University, College of Optometry (Forest Grove, Oreg.) and the University of Houston.

Dr. Onofrey is the current editor of Clinical Optometric Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the author of The Eyecare Guidebook: A Clinical Manual.
